Let s looks at the facts...He s Driving a DEI car ....been on his daddy s coat tail to get him where he s at today, Driving one of the best sponsored race cars out there BUDWEISER !
Now: The Scenerio
...... He s having a not so good year 12th place & just 1 top 5 finish & no wins, shirts & diecast sales are down, why don t I just throw out that I m leaving DEI ! ...POOF ! Sales are striving again, people are buying my products like Budweisers again ! Jr couldn t think of this on his own, his sister had too, can t see him having his own team, sister might not have the time for all that !
It s politics & just a game to drive $$$$$$$....And attention to the 8 car !
Heck he could take Waltrip s place in the only American made car in the field TOYOTA ! And Jarrett could bring him Napa parts in the BIG Brown Truck !
I could be wrong...but don t see him leaving daddys company ! it just don t make sense !

I can kinda agree with what you're saying. But I think he's leaving. I like Dale Jr. I've often said that I don't think he's one of the better drivers out there. But you are talking marketing here. Nascar don't care about the older generation people anymore. They linger to the young crowd. I understand. They are a business, and they are out to make money. Younger drivers, with the right sponsors, are going to climb no matter what. That means nascar is going to hang to there side. Nascar controls the media, and the drivers, for the most part. Seems kinda strange that sometimes they interview the guy who gets 23rd. But maybe he's got bud, or another quality sponsor, that likes to see their name on t.v. You gotta think nascar is getting a major kick on that. But, I think Jr. is leaving. I really think that nowadays, he has decided, that he wants to REALLY grow up and win. DEI is behind the times. Just like Childress was a couple of years ago. One way or another, everybody is gonna make a lot of money on this one.

I heard this on WLW racing report. Since the statement that JR. is leaving DEI, merchandise sales are up 107%. A guy could buy a lot of bud with that kinda cash flow!

Amazing aint it ! Well the other side to this is....He says he s leaving because he can t be majority owner of DEI....& it isn t because of money ! Well I don t see him going to drive for anyone else & be majority owner either .... And if he does drive for someone else it won t be for less than he was making at DEI ! So he will not better himself at all, that I could not see !
He maybe triing to put together his own team....but he would lose millions in collectible sales to DEI ! So it all just makes since, I still believe he s staying, If he goes he prob made a couple millions in sales before he left !
